Allen Atelier provides Architecture, Interiors, and Planning services for residential and commercial projects, and is based on the north coast of California.

An atelier (ah·teh·lee·ay) can be defined as a studio or workshop, and in our case signifies working in collaboration with our clients to create meaningful and unique buildings and spaces.

Our design strives to respond to and work within its context and landscape. We pay special attention to the experience of arrival and the space around a building so that it feels grounded in its setting. Sustainability and use of local materials are folded in at the early stages of projects. In our work, we aim to translate the local language of architectural elements into contemporary design through attention to scale, proportion, composition, and ornament. Allen Atelier looks at our projects holistically and we like working at the Site Planning, Architectural, and Interior level when appropriate. We look forward to working with you in Humboldt, Mendocino, Del Norte, and Trinity Counties and beyond!
